Sweden to achieve deal with Turkey regarding joining NATO

(MENAFN) Sweden’s center-right administration will achieve all needs under an agreement with Turkey to become a member of NATO and will stress external ties to its instant neighborhood while stopping the previous government’s “feminist foreign policy,” on the words of the nation’s main diplomat on Monday.

Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom made a statement that the new administration has Turkey’s concern regarding the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, which is seen a terrorist organization in Turkey, Europe and the US.

“There will be no nonsense from the Swedish government when it comes to the PKK,” Billstrom informed the Associated Press in an interview.

“We are fully behind a policy which means that terrorist organizations don’t have a right to function on Swedish territory.”

Turkey delayed Sweden and Finland’s historic attempt to become part of NATO over worries that both nations — mainly Sweden— had become a safe place for participants of the PKK and affiliated factions.
