Doha: Three kilos of methamphetamine were seized from an arriving passenger at Hamad International Airport (HIA).

The customs authorities at HIA were able to thwart the smuggling attempt and found the banned substance placed at the bottom of the passenger's bag.

Last week, lyrica pills were also seized inside a food shipment containing sauce cans. The total number of banned pills seized were not specified.

Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
