Foreign Minister: Iran did not send arms to groups involved in Ukraine war

(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian repeats the need for a diplomatic remedy to the months-long conflict in Ukraine while declaring that the Islamic Republic has not delivered arms to either of the groups involved in the Ukraine war.

Amir Abdollahian commented in a telephone call with his Portuguese fellow Joo Gomes Cravinho late on Friday.

The latest improvements in two-sided ties, the talks to lift restrictions by revitalizing the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Ukrainian war, the newest lethal uprisings in Iran, and foreign interfering in local affairs of Iran were all topics of conversation between the Iranian and Portuguese foreign ministers.

The senior Iranian diplomat added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has not and will not provide any weapon to be used in the Ukraine war. We believe that arming the either side of the crisis will prolong the war. We do not view war to be the right solution either in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria or Yemen.”
