UN: worldwide travelers almost increase by 300% in first 7 months


(MENAFN) Having remained to present robust indications of regain, worldwide tourist comings nearly tripled in the first 7 months of this year in comparison to the same months in 2021, as shown by figures from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The most recent UNWTO World Tourism Barometer data issued on Monday indicated that nearly 474 million tourists took trips worldwide from in the January-July period, surging from 175 million in the same period in the last year—a yearly rise of 175 percent.

Therefore, worldwide tourism regained to nearly 60 percent of pre-epidemic rate due to solid pent-up request for global trip, in addition to easing of travel restrictions, the UNWTO stated.
