Czech Republic citizens invade Prague streets to protest surging energy bills

(MENAFN) An approximated 70,000 people invaded the streets on Saturday in the Czech capital of Prague to complaint about surging energy bills and the administration's procedure on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Activists grouped in the iconic Wenceslas Square below the slogan of the "Czech Republic in the first place" and pressed for the submission of the present administration ruled by conservative Premier Petr Fiala.

They commanded an end to EU restrictions that they perceive as the cause behind the failing financial condition -- arguing that the Czech Republic should be unbiased.

Fiala considered the complaint as "pro-Russian," noting it is against the national interests, He stated that some in the Czech Republic are impacted by Russian propaganda and deception movements.

The Czech administration has backed Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict with ammo as well as logistics, it also opened its doors to over 400,000 Ukrainian immigrants.

The US and the EU have applied extensive restrictions on Russia to put weight into finishing the conflict in Ukraine, which went into its seventh month.
