Boy from Ukraine fires rocket launcher at his sibling


(MENAFN) According to the prosecutor general's office, a live munition exploded at an armament's exhibition in the east Ukrainian city of Chernigov on Saturday, gravely injuring at least five persons, including four children. According to local media, there were actually four adults and four kids hurt.

The incident happened during a community museum's outdoor "weaponry exhibition." A 10-year-old youngster was reportedly playing with an anti-tank weapon that was likely an RPG-18 single-use rocket-propelled grenade developed by the Soviet Union.

According to reports, the youngster pointed the pistol at his 12-year-old brother before pulling the trigger, hurting both of them as well as numerous onlookers, including a toddler. According to local police, all of the victims appeared to have only been struck by the weapon's exhaust as the munition itself blasted away and struck a house's roof.

The boy's ability to prepare the grenade launcher on his own or if the weapon was shown in a battle-ready state was not immediately known. RPGs of that sort must be unfolded before use and have no safety features once they are.
