Doha: Qatar's high jump superstar Mutaz Essa Barshim is set to compete at the Diamond League meeting, which will be held in Monaco today.

The three-time world champion will be up against a strong field that includes Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi, with whom he shared the Tokyo Olympics gold medal last year.

World Championships silver medallist Woo Sanghyeok of South Korea and bronze medallist Andriy Protsenko of Ukraine will also compete in the meeting.

Barshim will be seen in action for the first time after sealing the first hat-trick of men's high jump world titles in Eugene last month.

'I want to jump high and have a great competition. With two or three more events to go this season, I still have something more to give. It'll be amazing to finish the season with a 2.40M leap,' Barshim said during a pre-event press conference yesterday.

As many as 14 titles will be decided in today's meet with other world champions including American Grant Holloway (men's 110m hurdles), two-time Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas (women's 400m), Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas (women's triple jump) and Australian Kelsey-Lee Barber (women's javelin) will also be seen in action.
