Kuwait Finish West Asian Under 20S Athletics Event With 18 Medals
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, July 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait collected some seven medals, including two golds, on the final day of the Lebanon-hosted West Asian under 20's Athletics championship, bringing its medal haul to 18.
The pair of gold medals the Kuwaiti side clinched came during the 800 meters and 200 meters track events, respectively, while the team's total count of 18 medals was described as 'record-breaking' by Kuwaiti and West Asian Athletics Federation chief Sayer Al-Enezi.
He applauded his athletes for their 'stellar' performances during the event, saying it would prepare them well ahead a pan-Asian athletics event slated for Kuwait in October. (end)
