Philippine Embassy Hosts Series Of Financial Literacy Webinar

Doha: The Philippine Embassy in Qatar and Overseas Filipino bank (OFBank) organised its first of the four series on financial awareness webinar to Filipino workers in Qatar.
Philippine Ambassador H E Alan Timbayan said in his opening speech that the free webinar is being conducted to help raise awareness of financial literacy for Filipinos living and working in the country.
“Financial literacy is a must-known subject matter for every Filipino, especially the working class, including our audience today, the Overseas Filipino Workers on the benefits of this financial awareness seminar,” the envoy said.
Over 300 participants registered on the first session which was conducted yesterday via Zoom and was live-streamed at the Philippine Embassy's Facebook Page.
For the next three consecutive Fridays, the other three remaining sessions will be held.
The ambassador also encouraged Filipinos to maximise the said opportunity by completing the extensive webinar in financial literacy conducted by the OFBank.“It should also be noted that this awareness webinar can only sow the seeds in you, and that is up to you to cultivate it.”
Resource speaker of yesterday's webinar was Gerald Heriales, OFBank Overseas Officer in the Middle East. He discussed five topics on the almost one hour webinar: what is savings, how to save correctly, why is it good to save in the bank, what is budgeting and its types, and what is OFBank.
