MES Indian School swears in student leaders for new academic year

Doha: The student council members of MES Indian School for the academic year 2022-23 were sworn in recently in an impressive ceremony held at the conference Hall of the school. 

The inductees include school appointees, prefects, club secretaries, house captains, scouts and guides, cubs and bulbuls, campus care force representatives, and band captains. Each elected member was donned the mantle of leadership and were all set to discharge responsibilities entrusted to them.

 The Chief Guest, AP Khaleel, Vice-President and the Guest of Honour, MC Muhamed, Director, Co-Curricular and Cultural Activities, MES Governing Board graced the occasion and distributed badges to the newly-elected office-bearers of the student council. 

AP Khaleel hoisted the school flag on the occasion. In his speech, he remarked that the student leaders should foster leadership traits such as resilience, tolerance, and perseverance to perform efficiently, as such qualities improve their mental and emotional strength, thus enabling them to face challenges with confidence. 

On the other hand, MC Muhamed stressed the importance of students cultivating self-discipline and awareness about themselves as they would guide them while taking crucial decisions as leaders.

Hameeda Kadar, school principal, urged the student council members to be promising leaders and fulfil the vision and mission of the school by excelling in their journey towards a holistic development. She also reminded them of developing humanitarian values such as, empathy and fellow feeling so as to ensure amicable relationship with everyone. 

The major student officials are Mohammed Faiz Bin Abdulla (Junior Head Boy), Safa Fathima (Junior Head Girl), Hazem Haris (Senior Head Boy), Sehla Kabeer (Senior Head Girl). 

The newly elected Head Boy, Hazem Haris led the oath-taking ceremony, reaffirming the diligence and dedication with which the new student council would function. 
A march past of students holding house and scouts flags was carried out in perfect synchronization with the beat of the school band. 

Vice-Principals and Heads of Sections, school officials, teachers, and students were among those who attended the investiture ceremony.

Earlier, Rizwa Fathima, a teacher representative welcomed the gathering, and the Head Girl, Sehla Kabeer proposed a vote of thanks.
