The United States Department of States has once again reacted to the continuation of the ban on secondary schools for girls in Afghanistan warning that the decision will have significant implications for their engagement with the Taliban.
Speaking at a press conference, spokesperson of the Ministry Ned Price said, that the Taliban have a desire to have better relations not only with the US but with the international community.
Ned Price acknowledged that no country can succeed economically, politically, and on any other basis when half or over half of its population is not able to go to schools.
Further, he added that the Taliban have reversed their commitments made publicly in terms of reopening schools for all Afghan people.
Ned Price said that the US has been supporting education in Afghanistan and have called on the Taliban to overcome the impediments existing to reopening secondary schools for Afghan girls.
