A new batch of licensed Qatari real estate brokers took the legal oath yesterday before the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee at the Ministry of Justice.
The batch included 23 mediators between individuals and real estate brokerage companies, which raises the number of licensed brokers since the activation of the new law for more than 318 Qatari real estate brokers licensed and registered with the real estate brokerage department.
The license for this batch comes, since the Ministry of Justice started activating Law No. 22 of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage, within the framework of the executive procedures for the provisions of the law, and pushing real estate brokerage work towards an organised and prepared legal environment to keep pace with the economic and urban renaissance witnessed by the state and the great expansion in the real estate sector, with the necessary reconfiguration and organization of the real estate system to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs and Chairman of the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, stressed the ministry's keenness to advance the real estate brokerage profession and its interest in developing the legal professions, at the forefront is the real estate brokerage profession because of the results that are directly related to the national development process, of which the real estate sector is one of its main pillars.
Al Suwaidi pointed out the need to deal with licensed brokers because of its importance to protect the rights of various parties and warned against dealing with unlicensed brokers after the expiry of the period for reconciling the situation and starting to activate the real estate mediation law.
The Ministry of Justice stresses the necessity of dealing with real estate brokers licensed by the Ministry in order to avoid legal violations resulting from carrying out brokerage activities without a license.
The license for this batch came after completing the specific organizational procedures under the provisions of the law, which include interviewing applicants for the profession's work, inspecting their offices and ensuring their compliance with the requirements for practicing the profession, and participating in specialized training courses at Center of Legal and Judicial Studies (CLJS)
