Sweden declares Russia as danger to Europe


(MENAFN) According to Sweden's defense minister, Russia's aggressive actions in recent years have turned into a hazard to the majority of Europe, including Sweden.

Peter Hultqvist, while speaking at a seminar on military and defensive power, highlighted that under UN standards, totally all nations have sovereign laws. Nevertheless, by defying global law, Russia endangers the security of some nations, he warned.

He further states that, "We need to cooperate with NATO, (since) the EU is an important and secure Political platform for Sweden."

On December 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a warning to the United States, stating that he does not wish Sweden or Finland, both of which share borders Russia, to be enlisted in the NATO.
