Turkish president states cultural instruments as influential tools of world order

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the Turkish president stated that the tools of culture, involving music, films, literature, as well as fashion, are "the most powerful of the weapons" owned by those running the international system.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared while addressing the 2020 Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards Ceremony at Presidential Complex that these tools, referred to as "soft power," can become methods that are much more efficient than military, technological, along with financial control when the demand emerges.

Erdogan stated, "added to them nowadays are the technology-supported, internet-based instruments, so much so that who controls the content of internet has now become more important than who is in possession of nuclear bombs.”

And added, “however, no matter how big a crowd they incorporate or how rich a content they produce, they are still far away from creating the influence traditional culture and arts create in the human soul.”
