Qatar attends session of Arab Council for Population and Development

Cairo: The State of Qatar participated, on Tuesday, in the third session of the Arab Council for Population and Development, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, headed by Algeria.

The delegation of the State of Qatar at the session was headed by Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Arab League H E Salem Mubarak Al Shafi.

The agenda of the session includes a number of items and draft decisions related to the population and development issues that were discussed by the council's executive office, on Monday, including the impact of climate change on the population in the Arab countries, strengthening capabilities of workers in population affairs regarding the use of modern software, social risks and ways to confront it, and building the capacities of media professionals to harness media arts to support population and development issues.

The session's schedule also includes reviewing the development of the Arab strategy for population planning, in addition to preparing and coordinating the Arab positions to participate in the 55th session of the Commission on Population and Development in 2022.
