Turkish Red Crescent to send humanitarian assistance to help Belarusian-Polish border crisis


(MENAFN) According to Turkey’s Red Crescent announcement on Saturday, the aid group has sent cargo of humanitarian assistance to the Belarusian-Polish frontier to aid in easing the immigration situation there.

Based on a statement, a truck comprising of heaters, mattresses, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, as well as hygiene sets left the city of Istanbul for Belarus. New shipments are going to be arranged according to the demand.

Joining the humanitarian aid sending event were Turkish Red Crescent Deputy General Managers Alper Kucuk and Ibrahim Ozer, along with International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Secretary General Jagan Chapagain, and IFRC Europe Director Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen.

About 2,000 individuals are staying at Belarus’ Bruzgi border passing into Poland without accommodation and in bad circumstances as the weather gets colder.
