Qatar - AMUAAQ conducts beach clean-up


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), an associate organisation of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the aegis of the Indian embassy, conducted a beach clean up and get together. The programme, part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' and in association with ministry concerned, had the theme 'protect and preserve the natural environment and keep the marine habitat safe and trash-free'.
The event at Al Wakra Family beach was led by the managing committee of AMUAAQ presided by Jawed Ahmad.
Indian embassy first secretary (culture and education) Sachin Dinkar Shankpal was the chief guest. Ahmad gave the welcome address. He thanked Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal who sent his wishes for the activity. Dr Nadeem Jilani, chief advisor, AMUAAQ, spoke on the importance of beach clean up and marine protection.
ICBF vice president appreciated the AMUAAQ team. Indian Cultural Centre vice president Subramanya Hebbagelu, Indian Sports Centre vice president Shaji Valiyakath, and ICBF general secretary Sabith Saheer were among the guests.
AMUAAQ general secretary Mohamed Farman Khan informed that membership is open to all alumni of AMU, including their family members irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity.
Chief co-ordinator Dr Ashna Nusrat, organised games for all.
Community representatives including Mamnoon Ahmad Bangash, Mohamed Farman Khan, Mohamed Faisal Naseem, Farrukh Farooqui, Mohamed Nayeem, Faisal Abdullah, Shahabauddin Ahmad, Anjum Hussain, Abad Khan, Lutfi Kakar, Shafqat Nabi, Junaid Nizam, and Akhtar participated. Vice president M Faisal Naseem thanked the participants and guests.
