Qatar Chamber reviews coordination mechanisms for Private Sector Forum

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Qatar Chamber's (QC) First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari yesterday met with the United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States H E Earle Courtenay Rattray and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting reviewed mechanisms of coordination in terms of organising a forum for the private sector on the sidelines of the Fifth United Nations conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) which will take place in Qatar, from January 23-27 next year.

Rattray praised the partnership with the QC in organising the private sector forum, hoping that the various Qatari economic sectors would participate in the forum, which is an important tool for strengthening cooperation relations between the countries participating in the United Nations conference.

For his part, Al Kuwari reiterated the vast experience of Qatar in organising the international conferences and forums.

He also expressed Qatar Chamber's pleasure to support the forum, which will provide a great opportunity to strengthen trade partnerships with least developed countries in a way that help in boosting their development and transferring them from the list of least developed countries.
