Mega Sports Event Held For Specially Abled Players

SRINAGAR: A mega sports event for specially abled sportspersons was organised by Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) on Thursday in its premises at Bemina, here.

Players from almost all the districts participated in Athletics, Basketball, Badminton and Sitting Volleyball events. Secretary, J & K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull presided over the function as chief guest. During her interaction with players she complimented the players for their resilience and reducing their dependence by actively participating in sports and games.

She lauded the role of VMS for its tireless efforts to rehabilitate and lessen the sufferings of people with special abilities and providing a platform to them to showcase their talent and abilities.

She praised VMS for providing a conducive and favourable platform for such persons where from they can excel their talent and become valuable and responsible members of society.

Kifayat Ullah Rizvi, Honorary Secretary General Indian Red Cross Society, was the guest of honour on the occasion, and Muneer Alam, Volleyball Coach of Kashmir University, attended the function as special guest.
