KABUL: Afghan Journalists have complained over lack of government sources to provide information for the reporters, expressing concerns on jeopardization of freedom of the press.
The government offices are devoid of media workers and officials to provide details to the press.
Mani Meshkin Qalam, a freelance journalist said that he has been going through the most difficult time working as journalist since the collapse of the former government.
He termed lack of coordination among the officials as the main obstacle before the journalists.
No government department except the ministry of information and cultural affairs has a media section, despite the Taliban announcement of their cabinet.
“Journalists face many challenges. The Taliban have few spokespersons. The cabinet was introduced many days ago. There is no spokesperson for the ministries, it means there are no sources.”
The Taliban said that they are planning to form a framework that paves the ground for the media activities.
