China: Lottery auctions surpass USD5.36b


(MENAFN) According to the Ministry of Finance, China's lottery auctions hit 34.61 billion yuan (about USD5.36 billion) in June, augmenting by 1.04 billion yuan from the same period of 2020.

The ministry revealed that sales of benefit lottery tickets reached 11.22 billion yuan in June, while sports lottery sales reached almost 23.39 billion yuan.

In the first half of this year, lottery sales made up almost 178.44 billion yuan, involving 67.7 billion yuan of welfare lottery sales and 110.74 billion yuan of sports lottery sales.

Under China's lottery management regulations, money from ticket sales is used for managerial costs, public welfare schemes and prize winnings.
