China, Singapore advance in follow-up discussions on trade-pact promotion


(MENAFN) On Friday, Jun. 25 the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) stated that China and Singapore have accomplished upbeat advancement in the second round of follow-up talks on the promotion of the China-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (CSFTA).

The MOC said that both nations carried out in-depth talks on rules linked to cross-frontier service trade, investment, telecommunications and other sectors in the assemblies conducted through teleconference from June 17 to 25.

Both parties also concurred to conduct talks on market access negative lists for service trade and investment in the next round of negotiations.

The CSFTA was implemented during the first month of 2009. Both nations carried out follow-up negotiations over the upgrade to the deal in December 2020, with a view to advancing bilateral trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.
