Russia: Arctic LNG 2 scheme to launch in 2023
(MENAFN)Gas manufacturer Novatek has declared that Russia’s scheme to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the resource-rich Arctic area, Arctic LNG 2, is 39 percent complete and will be launched as intended.
The CEO of Russia's main independent energy firm, Leonid Mikhelson, unveiled on Friday, April 23, how building of the scheme had improved. He stated that the first train of Arctic LNG 2 is 53 percent prepared and is planned to begin operations in two years.
The Arctic LNG 2 facility on the Gydan Peninsula is Novatek’s second place in the Arctic area. It comprises construction of three LNG trains, with a total output capacity of 19.8 million tons per year. As of the end of last year, the Arctic LNG 2 scheme was about one-third complete, while the first train was about 46 percent completed.
