IMF, World Bank advised to curb pandemic with just, well-organized rollout of vaccines

(MENAFN) On Friday, Apr. 9 the institutions' Development Committee stated that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group should work thoroughly jointly to curb the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and guarantee just and well-organized rollout of vaccines over all nations.

The joint ministerial committee of the World Bank and the IMF noted in a letter after an online assembly: "timely delivery of safe and effective vaccines across all countries is critical to ending the pandemic, especially as new variants emerge."

The letter added: "developing countries need to strengthen their readiness for vaccination campaigns and develop coordinated strategies to reach vulnerable populations."

The committee hailed the World Bank's collaboration with global institutions and private manufacturers to help guarantee that developing nations have "fast, transparent, affordable, and equitable access to vaccines."
