UNICEF stresses need to keep Lebanese children safe
(MENAFN) On Friday, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) urged families, societies and the Lebanese officials to commit to their responsibilities and keep children secured.
The agency said in a statement released on Friday on its website, "UNICEF reminds (Lebanese) caregivers, communities and the authorities of their critical responsibility to prevent children from being exposed to violence and other risks threatening their lives and well-being, including psychological."
The explosion of a hand grenade on Thursday in Hermel, a town in Baalbek-Hermel Governorate, northeast of Lebanon, left three children wounded.
Two others were also injured by crossfire during a dispute in Tabbaneh, north of Lebanon.
