Egyptian NGO for children with disabilities receives JICA Award


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The Egyptian NGO, Village of Hope, has been honoured by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for its long-term contributions to the development of Egypt.

The newly established JICA Egypt Office Chief Representative Award aims to give commendations to development partners who are considered to be an asset for JICA's activities in Egypt.

Village of Hope is located in Alexandria and is recognised as a significant supporter for JICA volunteer programme. The NGO has welcomed a number of young Japanese volunteers since 2003 to improve the quality of the services they offer to children with disabilities.

The award will be presented to Nada Thabet, Chairperson of Village of Hope, during the NGO's yearly celebration of 'International Handicapped Day' on 12 December at the Alexandria Yacht club.
