China gold production, expenditure fall


(MENAFN) Industry statistics revealed on Tuesday, October 27, that China manufactured 262.93 tons of gold in the first nine months of 2020, a decline of 12.42 tons or 4.51 percent compared to the same time of 2019.

According to statistics revealed by the China Gold Association (CGA), gold expenditure fell 28.66 percent year on year to 548.09 tons during the first three quarters.

Expenditure of gold jewelry in the Chinese market reached 343.08 tons in the January-September period, diving 34.43 percent year on year, CGA statistics revealed.


During the same period, expenditure of gold coins and bars declined 14.07 percent year on year to 142.52 tons, while expenditure of gold for industrial and other use fell 21.11 percent from a year prior to 62.49 tons.
