Brazil: Almost 50,000 tourism trades close because of coronavirus
(MENAFN) Brazil's tourism sector lost 49,900 trades from March to August because of the coronavirus pandemic, accounting for 16.7 percent of pre-pandemic tourism trades, the National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) stated on Monday, October 5.
Tourism micro-businesses were the most affected (29,200), followed by tiny firms (19,100), while all Brazilian states lost tourism trades, mostly Sao Paulo (15,200), Minas Gerais (5,400), Rio de Janeiro (4,500) and Parana (3,800).
CNC leader Jose Roberto Tadros stated that the sector saw no outlook of revival in the upcoming months.
