France backs Saudi efforts to implement Riyadh agreement on Yemen


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, July 31 (KUNA) -- French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has hailed the Saudi efforts to accelerate the implementation of the recently signed Riyadh power-sharing agreement between the legitimate Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council.
In a press statement on Friday, the French Foreign Ministry said Le Drian's remark came during his reception today of the visiting Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
It pointed out the two ministers also reviewed the efforts to enforce the agreement and to reach a ceasefire in the war-torn country.
They also tackled the latest international and regional developments of common concern, particularly the situation in Libya.
In this regard, the French top diplomat stressed need for de-military escalation and diplomatic solutions to the civil conflict in Arab, North African country.
On bilateral relations, the two officials agreed on boosting joint cooperation in all domains. (end)
