15 new coronavirus cases recorded in Jordan


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 24 (Petra)-- Fifteen new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Jordan on Friday, bringing the total number to 1,146 since the start of the crisis.
The one local case is a doctor who works at The Prince Hussein Hospital in Amman.
Investigations to find the cause of infection are underway and precautionary measures have been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The other 11 cases are people currently staying in hotel quarantine; one has travelled from the UAE, eight from Saudi Arabia and two from Palestine.
Three cases involved Jordanian truck drivers who have entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing.
Five recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from Prince Hamzah Hospital on Friday.
A total of 7,788 random tests were conducted today, bringing the total number conducted so far to 550,656.
In light of the increasing number of cases worldwide and the resurgence of the pandemic in many countries, the Ministry of Health stressed the need to adhere to health and safety measures.
The Ministry of Health reiterated the need to adhere to preventive measures, avoid gatherings for more than 20 people, wear facemasks, social distance, and use Aman and Sehtak mobile applications.
