Jordan may recommence widespread lockdown if domestic coronavirus infections increase

Jordan said on Monday, June 8th that it might recommence imposing a complete curfew every weekend and limitations on movement if local cases of coronavirus continue to increase.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said at a press briefing that the country recorded several local infections of coronavirus after the curfew was facilitated earlier this week, which is a sign that the risk of coronavirus remains.
He added, "The public needs to adhere to instructions and abide by the public health measures."

Also, King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday, June 8th emphasized the significance of continuous precaution measures against COVID-19, to pave the way for internal economic recovery in the short term, according to a Royal Court statement obtained by Xinhua.

On Monday, 23 cases of coronavirus were recorded in the country, increasing the total number of cases to 831, Health Minister Saad Jaber said.
