1972 -- Poet Zaid Al-Harb passes away at 85. The deceased was a central figure in folklore poetry and one of the first calling for women equality.
1977 -- The second ground station of the satellite communication network opens in Umm Al-Aish.
1987 -- Late Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, inaugurates Yousef Al-Marzouq and Lulwa Al-Nassar Islamic Medical Center for herbal treatment.
1991 -- Iraqi invasion forces destroys Kuwaiti oil fields in a attempt to disrupt the international coalitions forces during their entrance.
