Algeria pres., Italy PM hold talks on Libya


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and visiting Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte discussed on Thursday Libya's crisis and stressed the importance of coordinating efforts for Berlin conference on Libya due on Sunday.
The two sides confirmed the rejection of any foreign military intervention in that Arab country, an Algerian presidential statement said.
Tebboune received Conte at the headquarters of the presidency, it said, adding that the meeting was a chance to discuss efforts of coordination and preparations for the conference.
The meeting helped the two countries' officials study the bilateral files and review the most important schedules, it noted.
Conte, who arrived in Algeria earlier in the day, met with his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Djerad.
They focused on the Libyan crisis and coordination to resolve the plight and stop the bloodshed in the country. (end)
