Afghanistan- Salang Highway Reopened to Land Traffics
(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - Salang highway which was blocked due to heavy snowing reopened to land traffics, officials said on Tuesday [January 14, 2020].
Acting head of Salang Maintenance and Monitoring Department, Mohammad Zahir Mohammadi told TKG that Salang highway which was closed to land traffics since Sunday evening [January 12, 2020] has been reopened on early Tuesday morning.
He added, about six avalanches rapidly fell and hit the Salang Pass last night; however, no casualties have been, reportedly, left.
Mr. Mohammadi further added that all the drivers should pay attention to the rules and code of highway when traveling through this highway and to avoid stopping and overtaking inside the tunnel. (TKG)
