Pakistan- CM directs for commencement of classes at Cadet College Mohmand
(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mehmood Khan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has directed officials to ensure commencement of classes in Cadet College Mamad Gate in tehsil Safi of district Mohmand from April 2020 and release the resources the pre-allocated cost for this purpose.
He also directed to allocate 20 seats per class each for Mohmad Gat and Bajaur districts under quota for tribal students, while for Khyber District ten seats per class, while under quota ten seats for martyrs' children and 10 seats on open merit for all over Pakistan.
Meanwhile, he directed Cadet College Swat to further increase the number of cadets on an annual basis, adding that the college could add 120 new cadets instead of 100 for the next three years. The Chief Minister directed two special seats for the martyrs to be removed from self-finance and put it on open merit so that the families of the martyrs could be facilitated.
He also agreed with the proposed fee structure for the college, which would provide education to the tribal districts of Mohmand and Bajaur for the first three years and only 25% of the total fee for the next two years will be charged. It is proposed to charge fifty per cent of the sixth and seventh class, 75% during the eighth and ninth class but 100% fee will be charged for open merit while education for martyrs' children is free.
The foundation stone of the cadet college was laid in Mamadgat area of Tehsil Safi in Mohmand district was laid on October 6, 2017, by General officer commanding, Major General, Inam Haider.
The Government officials were of the view that the people of Mohmand district have suffered huge losses during the war against militancy, adding projects like the cadet college and army public school would benefit the coming generations of the tribal people.
