Britain: Israeli settlements illegal in line with int'l law
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Britain on Thursday stressed that its stance regarding the Israeli settlements is firm and clear, saying the settlements are illegal in accordance with international law.
The Israeli settlements constitute a barrier towards achieving peace, and threaten opportunities to reach a two-state solution, British foreign ministry's spokesman said in a press statement.
He urged the Israeli authorities to stop building further settlements, noting that this illegal act will lead to opposite results.
On Monday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said his country no longer consider that the Israeli settlements are inconsistent with international law. (end)
