Afghanistan- Marshal Fahim National Defense University Holds Entrance Exam


(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL -Marshal Fahim National Defense University on Thursday held its entrance examfor new students.
Theexam, in which 4,376 students— including 61 females—participated, was held bythe national exam committee and the results will be announced next week.
Officialsat the university said that 500 students will be recruited this year, tenpercent of whom will be girls.
'Ourstudents will study in the university in the eight academies which are veryimportant, and the students will study there professionally for four years.This university has seven non-military faculties and nine military faculties,said Ahsan Azim, commander of the university
'I havegraduated from Zargona High School and I am interested in military medicalschool. In the past the military medical faculty was not included in thenational exam committee and for this reason I am participating in the exam tosucceed in my favorite area, said Nazira Omari, an exam participant.
'I amthe first member of my family to apply for the military. My father supports mein my decisions, also my father filled the entrance exam form for me, saidSafia Asas, another participant.
Amongthe 4,376 students who participated in the exam, about 220 students graduatedfrom military high school.
'I havecome from Kunur, I have studied at military school, which is under theauthority of the National Defense Ministry, and now I am participating in theexam to continue my lessons at the university, said Zakirullah Dilsoz, who hasgraduated from military schools.
'Idecided to continue my lessons in the air force and to work with the air forceto serve my country, said Mohammad Husain, who graduated from Sar-e-Polprovince.
Accordingto Monireh Yousef Zadeh, the deputy minister of defense, this year the demandsfor this military university is higher compared to last year and 1,000 morestudents participated in the entrance exam.
'Thisshows that there is interest among the youth to come and join the defenseforces, said Yousef Zadah. (TOLO News)
