Kuwait Defense Minister refers accounting irregularities to prosecution
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has issued orders to refer "all irregularities regarding accounts of the army fund (budget) and relevant accounts to the Public Prosecutor."
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Thursday that the minister had taken this decision after a probe panel that had been formed upon a decision by him "concluded that there had been some parties involved in these offenses that warranted referral to Public Prosecutor."
Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad's decision has been taken for sake of boosting transparency, adopting neutrality with respect of legal proceedings and in line with keenness on protecting public funds. (end)
