9 immigrants rescued in France

French maritime authorities said on Monday that 11 migrants were rescued by French coastguards as their vessel broke down while attempting to cross the English channel to get to Britain.

6 men, a woman and two kids were rescued and were unharmed.

The migrants were transferred to border police in Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France.

The maritime prefect warned migrants about the dangerous attempts to reach Britain via the Channel, which he said is "one of the busiest areas in the world and therefore dangerous for human life".
