Uganda: road accident kills 3, wounds 18 in Bugiri


(MENAFN) On Sunday, as many as three people were murdered and 18 more were seriously wounded as a result of a road accident including a regional bus in the eastern district of Bugiri on Sunday, police emphasized.

Anatoli Katungwesi, the Busoga East regional police commander, informed Xinhua in a phone call that the deadly accident took place after a head-on collision between a Kenyan registered Modern Coast bus and a trailer at Nakawa village, along the Bugiri-Kampala Highway.

The bus was on his way to Burundi's capital, Bujumbura from Kenyan coastal town of Mombasa.

Katungwesi stated, "We are yet to confirm the nationalities of the deceased passengers. The bus moves from Kenya through Uganda to Burundi".
