Rubber exports in Myanmar rise

Figures of the Ministry of Commerce said on Sunday that 192,980 tons of rubber valued around USD247.56 million were exported from Myanmar in the 11 months from October 2018 to August 2019, getting over the target of 170,000 tons.

The exports of rubber rose 41,090 tons in comparison with the same time frame of the last year 2017-18 as it registered 151,890 tons valued USD184.36 million.

In Myanmar, more that 660,100 hectares are planted with rubber which is mostly exported to China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, India and Japan.

The association of Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers told planters and all stakeholders of rubber to make efforts to produce profitable quality rubber to boost the export.
