(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is celebrating his 70th birthday today - and on this joyous occasion, residents and royals took to social media to wish the popular leader a 'Happy Birthday'.

The ruler's children and relatives took to social media to pay rich tribute to him on his 70th birthday, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed was born on July 15, 1949, at the Al Maktoum house in Al Shindagha.

He is the third of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum's four sons.

His brothers are Sheikh Maktoum, Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Ahmed.

His mother was Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, daughter of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, a former ruler of Abu Dhabi.
