Agreement signed to increase flights between Doha and Mombasa

Doha: Minister of Transport and Communications, H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, and Kenyan Minister of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development James Macharia, yesterday signed agreement on increasing the number of Qatar's national carrier Qatar Airways flights between Doha and Mombasa by two flights to go up to six flights a week. This comes within the framework of boosting business, trade and investment opportunities between the two friendly countries. 

Mombasa is the principal Kenyan seaport and the second largest city in Kenya behind the capital city Nairobi with a major economic and touristic significance.

The two sides also agreed on signing a cooperation agreement before the end of this year between Hamad Port and Lamu Port, in addition to forming a joint working committee for enhancing all aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transportation and ports. The signing ceremony was attended by Kenya's Ambassador to Qatar Paddy C Ahenda.
