Azerbaijan real GDP growth hits 1.4 percent


(MENAFN) Azerbaijan was hit with disappointment as its real GDP growth was lower than initially anticipated, standing at 1.4 percent for 2018 from the expected 2 percent.

Based on data shown in a report the Accounts Chamber issued, Azerbaijan's transport and warehousing sectors registered the best performance with 37.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the non-oil sector managed to record more than 24 percent and trade posted over 22 percent, while agriculture exceeded 18 percent.

Growth in tourism, communications and other economic sectors ranged between 10 and 13 percent.
