Fiji to launch National Minimum Wage appraisal

(MENAFN) Fiji is ready to evaluate the National Minimum Wage (NMW), which sets eyes on employers and employees within formal and informal economic fields.

This review will be conducted by the Fijian government, announced Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports Parveen Kumar Bala on Thursday.

The move comes as part of the government's dedication to safeguard vulnerable elements in Fiji along with granting them basic living standards and easing poverty, the minister affirmed.

Bala added "this will be then presented to the Employment Relations Advisory Board (ERAB), our tripartite mechanism and to Cabinet for consideration and decision."
