Qatar- Amir meets IPU president

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Thursday at the Amiri Diwan Inter-Parliamentary Union president Gabriela Cuevas Barron.

The Amir congratulated Cuevas Barron on the success of the 140th General Assembly of IPU held in Doha. The Amir also praised the positive results of the meetings and the important resolutions taken, reaffirming Qatar's support to the IPU in achieving its visions and goals to promotes security, peace and stability in countries.

Cuevas Barron expressed thanks and appreciation to Qatar's leadership and people for hosting of the assembly. During the meeting they exchanged views on a number of parliamentary and legislative topics. The meeting was attended by HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
