106 repatriated from Abu Dhabi and Jordan
The Department of Foreign Affairs said 55 Filipinos arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila on flights from Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon and a further 51 from Jordan on Sunday morning. They were assisted by the repatriation team from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), GMA News reported.
According to the OWWA, most of those repatriated from Jordan were women with children who had conflicts over their documents or employment and were processed through an amnesty program.
The agency will provide temporary shelter for those who cannot immediately go home to their provinces. Government assistance will also be offered.
