Jordan- Canada: Online hate fuels racist attacks
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Ottawa, March 17 (Petra) - Canada's Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen said that hateful comments online feed a narrative that can lead to violent attacks such as Friday's shooting at two New Zealand mosques.
Hussen told reporters that hatred has consequences, noting that those who pulled the trigger are fed into a narrative that leads to that kind of violence, which is the logical extension of that kind of hatred.
He called on the government to do more to tackle online hatred as there are tools out there that are being used by these people that are just fuelling the hated.
