(MENAFN- The Conversation) I have worked in fruit crops both at the field and lab level research for almost 25 years now. I have considerable experience in both tropical fruit crops like banana, mango and the citrus as well as temperate crops such as peach, plums etc. both at the field level and working on the genomics in lab. I have the privilege of leading a multi institute International project involving over 35 Scientists, 50 graduate students, research associates and technicians in 6 countries that was successfully completed recently. Currently my research focus is on developing new varieties of tender fruits such as peach, nectarine and plum as well as enhancing their post harvest shelf life.I am an Associate Editor in 2 journals and have published over 80 research papers and given over 100 talks in conferences.
