UK's Labour demand vote on new Brexit referendum


(MENAFN) The UK's parliament was demanded by Labour Party to launch a vote on holding a new referendum on Brexit in an amendment.

Such an amendment signifies a sharp change within the policies of the opposition party when it comes to a second referendum, looking to avoid a no-deal Brexit.

UK's Prime Minister Theresa May presented plants which consist of "an alternative Brexit deal that protects jobs, living standards and workers' rights and environmental standards, including through a comprehensive customs union with a UK say and strong single market deal," the party noted.

It added that "the option of a public vote on a deal or proposal on the UK's future relationship with the European Union" ought to be considered by parliament in breaking the Brexit impasse.
